Yes. There’s nothing wrong with learning how to code (or learning about geometry or anything else). I’m sure that there will also be careers for people who are passionate about writing code. What’s wrongheaded is the notion that people who do not know how to code will be somehow illiterate.

Communication skills will be far more important for the next generation, just as they are far more important now than they were 20 or 30 years ago.
